Shrimp is surprisingly the most popular seafood in the US. The firm flesh of shrimp is what leads to this dichotomy. Some are immediately repulsed by the texture and much prefer the flesh of other seafood options.
However, these are low in calories and fat, making them a healthy choice for seafood enthusiasts. It is also an excellent source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential vitamins and minerals. Shrimp itself has kind of a mild flavor, but it soaks on the ingredients it is cooked with. So either enjoy it in a classic shrimp cocktail or part of a stir-fry, shrimp will always stand out.
